MISSOULA, Mont. — A Belgrade man won’t serve time after participating in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
Andrew Michael Cavanaugh was sentenced Thursday in federal court. The judge ordered 24 months of probation, 60 hours of community service and $500 in restitution.
Cavanaugh reached a plea agreement in February and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of parading, demonstrating or picketing in a capitol building.
The FBI said it identified him in part because he wore a hat with his business' name on it while in the Capitol.
