Bozeman chocolate shop prepares for Valentine’s Day

Owner Wlady Grochowski prepares a batch of chocolate.

La Châtelaine Chocolat Co. is ready to be struck by Cupid’s arrow. Owner Wlady Grochowski, told NBC Montana Valentine’s Day marks one of the busiest days of the year for the chocolate shop.

Grochowski said employees make about 50 times more chocolate around Feb. 14 than it normally does throughout the year. The holiday brings a big boost to business.

"The chocolate business in America is very seasonal and we're in a small town, so it's even more pronounced, compared to New York where it's much less seasonal than it is here,” Grochowski said. “Christmas, Valentine's, Easter, are important components of our business. I mean if we were to fail in one of those, it could be a bad year."

La Châtelaine Chocolat Co. is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Rouse Avenue in Bozeman.
