Butte main polling place changed to Plaza Mall
BUTTE, Mont. — Local election officials want to remind the public in Butte-Silver Bow that the location of the main polling place has changed to the Butte Plaza Mall.
The polling location for the vast majority of precincts this year is in the old Herberger’s location at the Plaza Mall. This is because the Civic Center is being used by the ‘1923’ production.
On Monday, election workers spent the day making sure the new polling location would be ready to go on Tuesday, while also beginning to tabulate absentee ballots and conducting a final check of election equipment.
The mall polling location will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day for people to drop off their ballots or cast a vote in-person. Same day registration will also be available.
“The precincts are all in the front. So if (voters) come in that front door for Herberger’s they will find us,” said Clerk and Recorder Linda Sajor-Joyce. “We’re trying to get everything signed so it will be easy for them to find. You can also use the mall entrance and we’ll have people stationed there who can help find your precinct. Even if you don’t know your precinct, we’ll help you find it.”
One important thing to note is that Butte public transportation will be running on Tuesday, with buses stopping at the mall about every 30 minutes.
The outlying polling locations in Rocker, Divide, Melrose and Ramsay will be open from noon to 8 p.m. on election day.
Although the Courthouse in Uptown will be closed on Election Day, ballots can also be dropped off at that location.
