MISSOULA, Mont. — The Mission Mountains Mercantile in Condon is missing its beloved “Condi,” the bright green Sinclair dinosaur that stood in front of the store.
The stores owner shared surveillance video, showing two people pulling up to the store from the south in a box truck around 1:45 a.m. Sunday. The video shows the thieves delicately carry Condi away, and then drive north on Highway 83.
A fire destroyed the Swan Valley store in 2016, but it reopened two years ago this week. The store’s owner says they received the dinosaur from Sinclair once the store reopened in 2018, holding a contest for the local school children to name it.
The stores owner says the theft has been reported to the authorities. They say this attack is not only on the community grocery store but on the community itself.
If you have any information about the stolen dinosaur, please call the Mission Mountains Mercantile 406-754-2387.
