Fire weather concerns Wednesday
Mostly sunny and warm Wednesday with highs in the 80s. Westerly winds will increase during the afternoon. This has prompted a FIRE WEATHER WARNING for the Lewis & Clark and Helena National Forests. West winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph along with humidities of 10 to 15 percent will bring critical fire weather to the region.
Daytime highs will be in the 80s and low 90s Thursday and Friday. This hot and windy pattern will further dry fuels and increase fire danger.
A dry cold front will enter the region Saturday, cooling temperatures to the 70s to lower 80s Sunday and early next week.
Fire danger remains at MODERATE in the Bitterroot National Forest and Yellowstone Park. Fire danger is HIGH in the Flathead National Forest, Lolo National Forest, the Gallatin National Forest, and the Kootenai National Forest.
