BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Gallatin City-County Health Department and several Bozeman departments addressed coronavirus at a press briefing Friday afternoon.
Bob Connors, superintendent for Bozeman Public Schools, says there are no plans to close school or extend spring break. However, they’re preparing off-campus lesson plans.
Gallatin-City County Health Department health officer Matt Kelley says they’ve been preparing for an outbreak for weeks and will continue to prepare.
“Our focus is slowing down the spread of the virus,” Kelley said.
Kelley also emphasized social distancing. He says to avoid large crowds and places where you would be more likely to come in contact with somebody who has contracted the virus.
“We urge individuals to make smart decisions for themselves and their families about the events they do attend,” Kelley said. “We’re at a moment right now where we can flatten that curve.”
Officials say individuals diagnosed with coronavirus will be required to quarantine in their home. Officials are also asking the public to be respectful and kind in that situation.
