Missoula, MONT — Gubernatorial candidate and current Lt. Gov. Mike Cooney released his Keep Montana Working plan to a group of supporters in Missoula on Thursday.
Cooney started the event by outlining his accomplishments working under Gov. Steve Bullock, stating that even before the coronavirus pandemic, Montana’s economy was growing.
His plan includes several strategies to keep jobs in Montana and provide new jobs for Montanans.
Cooney hopes to pass a Hire Montanans First Act, Buy Made in Montana Act and an executive order to discourage outsourcing jobs to out-of-staters.
He also touched on renewable energy, equal pay for women in the workforce, paid family leave, child care incentives and more.
