Ice jam closes park in Ennis for foreseeable future

BOZEMAN, Mont. — Lions Park in Ennis is closed and will continue to be closed due to public safety.

An ice jam on the Madison River led to the park closing on Jan. 4.

The Ennis Police Department says a channel on the Madison River is now open and water is no longer flowing into Lions Park.

This is leading to a drop in water levels inside the park, but police say the park will not reopen until all the ice has melted and they know the full extent of the damage.
