KALISPELL, Mont. — Kalispell city planners hosted an open house at Wheatons for their pedestrian and bicycle plan on Friday.
An online survey is already in place and they’ve received over 300 responses.
“We’re in a time, we’re in a community that’s really outdoor orientated, recreational oriented. But it’s not just about recreation. It’s about getting places and being able to get across town on your two feet,” Kalispell Planning Director Tom Jentz said.
However planners want more input from the older parts of the city.
“How do we start reincorporating pedestrians going through bicycles? How do we make bicycles a part of the regular traffic stream? How do we do it safely and how do we do it efficiently?” Jentz asked.
They’re hoping to have a draft of the plan ready by next month and through the council by April 2020.
The online survey will be up for a few more days. Click here.
