A new piece of technology is being slowly introduced to Flathead County schools.
TemChek is a new, portable unit combining a touchless palm thermometer with an automatic sanitizer dispenser.
TemChek kiosks display temperatures between 97 and 108 degrees and set off an alarm for high temperatures. A fever alert goes off at 99 degrees Fahrenheit.
Local TemChek representatives are hosting a drive-thru fundraiser to raise money to purchase units for every Flathead County school.
Currently, there are 45 public schools in Flathead County.
Amanda Hart said, “We knew that a lot of the schools had some budget cuts and issues due to COVID-19. We wanted to do a donation drive where we could get the community to help us fund-raise and get these units for every school in Flathead County.”
The fundraising event called Give Back Fill the Pack is taking place at 150 Industrial Court in Kalispell on Saturday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Hot dogs and drinks will be provided at the event.
