MISSOULA, Mont. — Rain on Saturday did not hold kids back from getting dirty at Missoula Under Construction.
The event at Fort Missoula allowed kids to get their hands dirty and learn about heavy machinery.
The event is meant to expose children to construction work and trade jobs. The proceeds benefit Missoula Food Bank.
"I guess (it is meant to) really to put the thoughts in the kids' minds at an early age that they want to come back next year and next year," event organizer Megan Taylor said. "Then when they see a construction project along the side of the road they think back to it and say, 'I want to do that when I grow up.'"
Taylor said that last year 3,000 people attended the event.
