Montana law has gray areas regarding meth contamination, cleanup
by Maritsa Georgiou
Montana’s meth cleanup law went into effect in 2005, but aside from clearing up a few technical definitions, it hasn’t changed since then. The law requires property owners to tell renters or buyers about a meth lab on the property, but there’s nothing in the rules about a cleanup threshold for meth use or that anyone has to disclose it.
