Montana man pleads guilty in stabbing death on reservation



    A Montana man has pleaded guilty in the stabbing death of his half brother on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation.

    The Billings Gazette reports 30-year-old Darrell Lee Whiteman pleaded guilty Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Billings to a charge of voluntary manslaughter.

    Whiteman, of Lame Deer, was drinking at the man's house on March 4, 2017.

    According to court documents, Whiteman grabbed a kitchen knife during an argument that erupted after Whiteman accused his girlfriend of having sex with his half brother.

    Court documents do not name the victim.

    Authorities previously said the FBI was investigating death of 32-year-old Dana L. Shoulderblade at a residence in Muddy on March 4, 2017.

    A sentencing date has not been scheduled.
