BOZEMAN, MOnt. — A Montana man has pleaded guilty to raping a 12-year-old girl.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports Aaron Manning on Tuesday entered a guilty plea to felony sexual intercourse without consent in Gallatin County District Court.
As part of a plea deal, the Gallatin County prosecutor will suggest Manning serve 25 years in state prison when he is sentenced March 20. The prosecutor will also recommend Manning register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.
Manning is allowed to make his own sentencing recommendation to the court.
On Feb. 27, 2016, the girl's stepfather reported to authorities that she had sex with an adult.
Manning was arrested in February 2016 after having met the victim on the instant messaging app Kik. Manning spent about four months in jail. He was released after posting $100,000 bail.
