BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Romney Oval at Montana State University was being set up Thursday for the Wildlands Festival.
It will mark MSU's second outdoor concert this summer and the first time a concert is held at the Romney Oval.
The Wildlands Festival features two headliners on August 10th -- Robert Earl Keen and Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real.
MSU assistant ticket manager Richard Droski says the location, at the center of campus, provides a great outdoor space for concertgoers.
Droski says they’re expecting 2,000 concertgoers Friday and they’re experimenting with more outdoor concert settings.
According to MSU officials, the recent Imagine Dragons concert at Bobcat Stadium gave a boost to the local economy. There were 20,000 sold-out tickets with two-thirds of ticket buyers from outside the Gallatin Valley.
