More harsh winter weather on the way

    WEATHER ALERT DAY has been issued for Wednesday due to dangerous wind chills area wide and accumulating snow across southwest Montana.

    WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for all of southwest Montana through Wednesday morning . Additional snow accumulations of up to 4 inches at lower elevations, and 4 to 8 inches in the mountains. This includes the Butte, Bozeman, Ennis, Dillon, Townsend and Boulder areas.

    WIND CHILL ADVISORY from 11 pm Tuesday to 10 am Wednesday for the Flathead and Mission Valleys. Wind chills between 10 and 20 below zero are expected for the Flathead Valley, the Mission Valley, Bad Rock Canyon, Essex, Bigfork to Swan Lake, Marias Pass and Polebridge.

    Another surge of moisture will bring a chance of snow area wide through early Wednesday, with the best chance of accumulating snow across southwest Montana. As always, check ROAD CONDITIONS and PASS CAMERAS before traveling.

    Very cold weather will continue all week and through the weekend. Highs in the single digits and 10s with lows both above and below zero. Highs may briefly hit the 20s Friday.
