Sanders County fire officials report a new fire started and quickly grew into a 2,000-acre blaze.

They say the Rattlesnake Fire started in grass and climbed the hillside into the timber.

The fire is burning about 10 miles northeast of Hot Springs on Flathead Agency land.

More than 100 firefighters are assigned to the blaze.

Officials say the origin is suspicious.
