Slick roads cause dozens of accidents

A bad combination of freezing roads and falling snow made for tricky driving conditions across southwest Montana on Wednesday.

Montana Highway Patrol responded to dozens of calls over the course of the day. In their Bozeman district about 30 slideoffs were reported. Only about seven were reported in the Butte district.

On local roads drivers also faced tough conditions. Snow-covered streets in the morning were packed down and icy by the end of the day.

Roads are likely to be slippery into Thursday morning. Drivers are advised to allow for plenty of extra driving time.
