Snow then rain as snow levels increase

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY Wednesday night and Thursday morning for most all the passes of western Montana and the Missoula, Mission, Flathead, Bitterroot and Gallatin Valleys. Snowfall of 1 to 3 inches in the valleys and 3 to 12 inches in the mountains.

A surge of Pacific moisture is moving into western Montana. Initially, all snow will fall through early Friday, with accumulations likely. As milder air moves into the region, we will see the valley rain mix with and chance to snow by Friday afternoon. Snow levels will rise to 6000 feet by Friday night. Daytime highs will be in the 30s to lower 40s.

More moisture will stream through the area this weekend, keeping valley rain or a mix and mountain mix and snow periodically across the region. Highs this weekend in the 30s to lower 40s with lows in the upper 20s and 30s.
