The Missoula City-County Health Department temporarily closed two more bars over the weekend and last week issued several other compliance warnings related to Gov. Steve Bullock’s COVID-19 directives.

NBC Montana told you last week when the health department closed the Missoula Club and the Alcan Bar.

The health department issued five orders to comply, which is like a last warning before additional steps are taken. They were sent to Roam Student Living, Larry’s Six Mile Bar, Benny’s Frenchtown Club, Stockman’s Bar and Bodega/Monk’s. On Saturday, two of those moved to orders to close.

The order sent to Stockman’s Bar says they were notified of violations on multiple visits -- things like mingling at the bar rail and people entering without face coverings.

Health officer Ellen Leahy sent an order to comply on Oct. 13, which warned of further actions including temporary closure.

The order says health department employees met with one of the bar owners and made a compliance plan on Oct. 16. A health department employee logged more violations on another trip to the bar after midnight.

A similar closure order was sent to Benny’s Frenchtown Club.

In order to reopen, the health department has to approve a detailed plan to meet the requirements.

The order does not apply to Dobi's Teriyaki II, as it is a separate entity in the building. "While Stockman’s Bar is required to close and remain closed as noted above, this order does not prohibit Dobi’s Teriyaki II from operating. No food or drink may originate from the bar or be served to Dobi’s customers."
