MISSOULA, Mont. — The standoff in Deer Lodge that started with disagreement between a man and a woman is over.
Law enforcement responded to reports of possible shots fired in Deer Lodge neighborhood Monday morning.
Officials say the man fired a handgun at law enforcement officers and that an officer returned fire.
Deer Lodge Police and Montana Highway Patrol were on scene.
Investigators say the standoff started with a disagreement between a man and woman in the 800 block of Higgins that started yesterday..
We’re told the suspect was hit in the elbow, returned to the home and called 911.
He’s currently hospitalized.
State officials are investigating.
