University of Montana football player found dead
MISSOULA, Mont. — A University of Montana spokesman confirmed the death of Andrew Harris, a senior on the Grizzly Football team and Kalispell native.
We're waiting to get more details about Harris' death, but the University released this statement Tuesday night:
The University of Montana is deeply saddened to learn of the loss of one its students, Andrew Harris. Harris was a senior majoring in business management from Kalispell, Mont. He graduated in 2015 from Glacier High School and was a member of the Grizzly football team.
“We extend our deepest sympathies to Andrew’s family and friends at this difficult time,” said President Seth Bodnar. “The entire UM family mourns his loss and our hearts go out to all who knew him.”
Grizzly Athletics Director Kent Haslam said that Harris’s teammates, other student-athletes, coaches and staff were notified earlier today.
Counselors will be available for any member of the University community — students, faculty or staff — who needs support through this tragedy.
