USPS releases stamp honoring first responders

The United States Postal Service released its new forever stamp Thursday.

The stamp honors first responders. It features three first responders racing into action -- a firefighter, an EMS worker and a law enforcement officer.

It's in recognition of their skill, dedication and uncommon bravery.

Dozens of people gathered for a dedication ceremony in Missoula at the Montana Aerial Fire Depot and Smokejumper Center.

Montana Attorney General Tim Fox spoke at the event.

Fox said it's important for the tens of thousands of law enforcement officers, firefighters and first responders across our great nation who stand ready to help others when disaster strikes to know their commitment and dedication doesn't go unappreciated.

The stamp was designed by artist Brian Stauffer, who worked with art director and designer Antonio Alcalá, and designer Ricky Altizer.
