Vacant fourplex fire under investigation in Butte
An early morning structure fire is under investigation in Butte.
According to the Butte-Silver Bow County Fire Department, the fire was reported at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday on the 500 block of S. Dakota Street.
When crews arrived, officials say what appeared to be a vacant, two story fourplex had fire coming through the windows on the second floor.
Crews were able to enter the building and ensure no one was inside. While moving through the building, they encountered garbage and had to clear out a path to access the stairs, officials said.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
