Precipitation is quickly ending across western Montana, with some lingering mountain snow showers. There will still be patchy ice and snow on some of the area roadways. Click ROAD REPORT to look at travel conditions for the northern Rockies.
High pressure will bring drier skies to the region Thursday night and Friday. High pressure is sinking air and this will trap colder air in many valley locations. These valley inversions will likely develop late this weekend into next week for the Missoula and Kalispell areas. This weekend and early next week, highs will in the upper 20s to lower 30s. Outside of the inversions, mild with highs in the 30s to lower 40s in Butte and Bozeman.
It appears we will need to wait about a week before the next chance of precipitation, with a slight chance next Wednesday and a better chance Thursday.
