Weather alert days Saturday through Tuesday

    WINTER STORM WATCH Saturday night through early Monday for southwest Montana east of the divide. This includes the Bozeman, Ennis, Dillon, Townsend and Boulder areas. Snowfall of 3 to 11 inches possible.

    FLOOD ADVISORY for the Madison River near Ennis. An ice jam is causing minor flooding.

    WEATHER ALERT DAYS are posted for Saturday through Tuesday.

    Harsh winter weather this weekend through the middle of next week! Moisture is returning to NBC Montana with increasing clouds. Snow developing across northwest Montana around Kalispell Friday night and south to Missoula early Saturday morning. Snow will overspread all of western Montana Saturday as an arctic cold front moves into the region. This will bring increasing winds up to 30 and 40 mph. Dangerous wind chills of 10 to 20 below zero by Saturday night and Sunday. Snowfall of a trace to 3 inches in the valleys and 3 to 7 inches in the mountains through Saturday night.

    Heavy snow along and south of I-90 Sunday into early Monday. The heaviest snow will be across southwest Montana where the watch exists. Additional snowfall elsewhere.

    The major winter storm may shift across all of NBC Montana on Monday and Tuesday with more significant snowfall and temperatures much below normal. Lows in the single digits and 10s with highs in the 10s and 20s.
