Weather alert days through Wednesday

    WINTER STORM WARNING in effect from Monday night through Wednesday for the Flathead and Mission Valleys, the Lower Clark Fork Region, Kootenai/Cabinet Region, Bitterroot/Sapphire Mountains, Clearwater Mountains and the Potomac/Seeley Lake Region. Snow accumulations of 8 to 18 inches (three day storm total).

    WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for until 9 am Tuesday for the Missoula and Bitterroot Valleys. Snowfall of 2 to 5 inches will be possible.

    FLOOD WATCH for the Jefferson River near Twin Bridges to north of Silver Star. An ice jam has developed north of Silver Star.The water is backing up as far south as Hells Canyon Road. Minor flood stage is 10 feet in this area.

    A string of Weather Alert Days has been issued across NBC Montana. Periods of light to moderate snow area expected through Thursday morning. Snowfall will be heaviest west of the divide, especially along and north of I-90. Snow and blowing snow will create travel difficulties, be sure to check the ROAD CONDITIONS from the Montana Department of Transportation.

    Temperatures will remain well below normal, but it won't be quite as cold. Daytime highs this week will be in the 20s and low 30s.
