MISSOULA, Mont. -- A flare up on the Bacon Rind fire is affecting Highway 191.
Fire activity kicked up south of Fawn Pass on Tuesday.
Custer Gallatin National Forest officials say the fire is staying on the west side of Highway 191, but firefigters will be out trying to bring down dead trees that could fall across the roadway.
Their work will cause short delays in traffic through Wednesday afternoon.
The fire teams are also protecting values at risk.
The Bacon Rind Fire covers close to 5,000 acres.
