MISSOULA, Mont. — The new "Yellowstone" prequel series, "1923," is in the preproduction phase in Butte.

Film crews will rent the Civic Center over the next several months and film in historic Uptown.

Butte-Silver Bow officials said the preproduction phase created 160 jobs, and when the full production kicks off in mid-August, that number could rise to 500.

Officials are working on totaling the economic impact the show will have on the city.
