After leading Arlee to their first and second ever state basketball championships the past two years, senior Phillip Malatare has landed on his next home to continue his basketball career.

The two time all-state selection is headed to North Idaho, a community college in Coeur D'Alene that competes in the Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC).

According to the GNAC website, Malatare signed his letter of intent to compete for the Cardinals on May 2. North Idaho won their conference for the first time in program history last season.

Malatare was one of the most exciting players to watch in the state over the the past two seasons in high school. He averaged 22.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 5.8 steals per game during his senior season.

Malatare was also instrumental in the team's suicide prevention video that went viral the same week that the Warriors won the class C state title in Butte.
