BOZEMAN, Mont. — There were two very different halves, one that featured a defensive struggle and another that saw two very different but high functioning offenses. But the Bobcats won both of them, and defeated Incarnate Word 35-14 to win their first playoff game since 2012.
The Bobcats rushed for 339 yards, dominating the Cardinals in the trenches on a cold and snowy afternoon that allowed them to control the game and time of possession, as Incarnate Word only rushed for 69 yards.
Troy Anderson once again lead the offense, rushing for 84 yards and a touchdown, but throwing more than usual, passing for 164 yards and a score.
Montana St. now travels to the top team in the country, North Dakota St., in round two of the FCS playoffs.
