Montana St. pounds Cal Poly
BOZEMAN, Mont. —
A new offensive coordinator, but a game plan we've seen before. The Bobcats committed to pounding the ball on the ground over the Mustangs, and it worked to the tune of 49 points as they edged out Cal Poly 49-42.
Troy Anderson had just 54 yards through the air, but MSU pounded the ball for 422 yards on the ground, including a 74 yard touchdown from Isaiah Ifanse and 51 and 49 yard touchdown runs from Anderson.
Ifanse lead the team in rushing, with 227 yards on 22 carries, averaging over 10 yards per attempt. Anderson finished with 107 yards on the ground on just seven attempts
MSU has a home game next week against Northern Colorado, before heading to Missoula for the Brawl of the Wild.
