Nic Garcia started with NBC Montana at our KTVM bureau in Butte. He is now reporting at KECI in Missoula.
Nic is from Riverside, California. He is eager to dive in to life in Montana, but is a sunny Southern California guy at heart.
He started his career in news while in high school as a cub reporter for The Riverside County Record Newspaper. Nic had the city hall beat there and learned a lot about local government.
Nic recently graduated from California State University, Fullerton, with his bachelors in Communications-Journalism. He minored in political science, which sparked his interest in reporting on politics. While at CSU Fullerton, Nic worked for the school’s TV station. He anchored and reported for several of the station’s shows.
While in college, Nic interned for NBC Los Angeles with the consumer investigative team. There he worked with some of the reporters who inspired him to get into the news industry in the first place. A curious mind, Nic knew he wanted to be a reporter for as long as he can remember. He says being a journalist allows him to give a voice to people who may not otherwise have one.
In his spare time, Nic enjoys watching movies, reading and baking as well as spending time with his family and friends.
